Opel has officially unveiled its new compact hatchback Adam, built on a shortened platform of Corsa. The new Opel Adam 2013 is positioned as a rival to cars like Fiat 500 and MINI.
Opel Adam has an original design with the ability to customize both the general exterior and interior. Opel Adam has three doors, four seats and measures 3.7 metres in length. Accorfing to Opel ” Adam focuses on trend-setting urban customers who are looking for a car that expresses their personal style.”
Opel will offer three engine choices for Adam, a 1.2 liter 70 hp enginer and two 1.4 liter engine developing 87 hp and 100 hp respectively. All are equipped with 5 speed gearboxes and start-stop function. Opel offers three performance trims for Adams – Jam, Glam and Slam which mainly differ in design. First option is targeted at people who follow latest fashion, the second option is aimed at those who prefer individuality, while third focuses on automotive sport fans. The company claim that a wide range of exterior colors, roof design options rims and color schemes for interior are available.
Opel Adam comes with six airbags, stabilization system, air conditioning and 16-inch wheels. Optionally available are LED running lights, automatic parking system, multimedia system with 7-inch color screen and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The world debut of Adam will be at Paris Motor Show 2012, while sales will begin early next year.
